It's a little ironic that Facebook's new touch-friendly mobile site doesn't seem to work. Can anyone else make touch.facebook.com load properly?

Just tried, got an error message.   Huh?

Why not try m.facebook.com? See if that works out for the mobile version of Facebook. Usually, mobile-related websites starts with an "m" such as m.wund.com for Wunderground (weather website) or maybe something like "example.mobi" (not a real website; just to give you an example). Hope this helps.

Mobile Facebook (m.facebook.com) works almost flawlessly with the Env Touch. What he is talking about is a new version (touch.facebook.com) that is specifically designed for non-iPhone touch phones. When I try it I cannot click on any links.

The only problems I've had with m.facebook.com is it does not display iPhone status updates for some reason, and you cannot post a comment from the internal keyboard for some reason (although status updates work fine), so you have to actually type it, close the phone, and click on submit from the exterior touch screen.

Sites I use with the Touch:

Mobile iGoogle and other google services
m.facebook.com
m.myspace.com
m.youtube.com
m.usbank.com
accuweather.com/m
mobile.wikipedia.com
m.espn.go.com
mobile.theonion.com

Can't use Google Docs.  Sad   I need a word processing app for my env touch.  Anyone know of one that's compatible with this phone?   I need read and edit capabilities like in Microsoft Word.

...that's kind of a smart phone capability.  Office Doc Editing is definitely a stretch for a ""dumb phone"" like the Touch.

Apparently the new browser version has some AJAX support.  It should make the overall google experience better ... not sure if it'll be good enough to fully enable GMAIL & Google Docs tho.

I'm holding off on updating my Touch to v08 until they sort out the kinks.

I can confirm that the new browser can access google docs, the HTML gmail, and google maps without any problems. It will also work with touch.facebook.com, although m.facebook.com still works better.

Other added bonuses are that it will save passwords and when you click the camera button you can use finger gestures to go back, forward, reload, etc.

I definitely recommend getting the update with this browser when it makes it to the VZW stores.
