Anytime a new phone comes out, the apps much be "edited" to "fut" the new screen or adapted to work with touch screen controls.  Apparently the people over at BREW wonderland just haven't taken the time to port a lot of the VZW apps onto the Touch.

APPs for the touch, what is that?  LOL, Verizon doesnt have a clue about anything other than talking on your phone.  hopefully with android verizon will boot qualcomm and their stupid brew.  I bought my phone because radio commercials said the touch had hundreds of apps,i counted 19 at the time,and a year later there are about 50, all kids games. I'm booting verizon for good to go with at&t and the iphone.Ive been a long long time customer since airtouch days and im sick of verizon having their head up their butt.I am so embarassed of my lg touch when others have an iphone with incredible apps,my friends can teather their iphone,verizon put a stop to that years ago so they can sqeeze more money out of you. !!!!!    BYE BYE Verizon !!!

so you are booting a non smart phone for a smart phone, my wife has a bb with vzw and there are tons of apps, sure vzw hasn't gotten on the app band wagon fully for the non smart phones, but since you are going for a smart phone have you looked at vzw's? I personally would never go back to at&t and there terrible customer service, bad reception, and limited availability of their 3g network. buy the time at&t gets a full coverage of 3g vzw will have a full 4g network.

Maybe you should try getting another phone.  I have upgraded to the droid eris and it has apps out of the wazoo.

But just like matt said, It's pointless to compare the env touch to the iphone. Of course the Touch is going to lose, but compare the iphone with vzw "smart phones" and i guarantee it will be more of a match.

I hate to disagree but comparing an iphone and a droid won't be a "match"  The Droid dominates and pretty much any 2.x android phone for that matter.  I pretty much don't consider an iphone to be a "smart" phone as it has none of the customization or the ability to run multiple programs similtaneously.  iphone is just a simple flashy feature phone with a massive app support.

If you want a smart phone Wait 2 weeks for the Incredible!!

About to sign up for a contract and a Nexus One? Take a step back and look what’s on the horizon. According to DailyTech, the HTC Incredible will be available in two weeks time from Verizon Wireless.

The Incredible is seen as HTC’s own answer to the Nexus One, but there are some key differences. Here’s the spec for the new smartphone:

    * 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD 8250 Snapdragon ARM CPU (underclocked to 768MHz)
    * 512MB DRAM
    * 6GB internal Flash memory
    * 8.0 megapixel camera
    * MicroSD card slot
    * FM Tuner
    * 1,300mAh battery
    * Android 2.1

The first difference you will notice when compared to the Nexus One is the processor, which has been underclocked. You may see this as a downside, but it could also be an advantage. The Snapdragon is still going to be lightning quick running at 768MHz, but also offers an extended battery life to users. If battery life is a concern, the Incredible could be a better choice.

The camera is better than on the Nexus One, but does make the phone slightly thicker at 11.9mm. The Nexus One is 11.4mm thick, so I doubt this is going to be a major complaint for Incredible users.

The other key difference is the internal storage. HTC has pushed that up to 6GB on the Incredible compared to 512MB on the Nexus One.

The specs on the Incredible have been all over the place as far as internal RAM and internal memory.  I'll be honest ... it's a phone I'd jump on the smartphone bandwagon for ... but I gotta see vastly superior specs to all other VZW offerings before giving up my grandfathered VCAST VPAK.  lol
