I'm going to get my env Touch tomorrow and I'm pretty excited, I was looking at the model they had in the store for quite along time. The phone I have currently is the env2, and I love the feature where you can use the external screen when the phone is flipped open to use if you were taking a picture of yourself. So my question is, does the env Touch also has this feature?

it should the voyager can do this, try going in to the options menu with the camera on and see if it gives the option of external screen on.

I couldn't find it when i looked, but then again I was trying not to hog it as the store was pretty busy. If it does I think it'll be an awesome feature as the external screen would show the whole picture where as the env2 is limited to just the tiny screen. I guess I'll just play around with it tomorrow if I get it. On an off-topic side note the panoramic feature works really well imo.

you guys should inform vzw about the lack of that feature, that is something that could be fixed with the firmware, so if enough people complain about it it could be changed.

Hopefully they will change this. I have the phone and see no way to do this right now.

the outside screen has a mirrored finish, you can use it as a self portrait mirror, although its not super acurate.

This is probably the one single thing I DON'T love about my EnV touch. I love taking pictures, and when my friends and I try to take pictures of a group of us by holding the phone out in front of me, it makes it super difficult to aim when I can't see in the external display. I was extremely disappointed in this because all the phones I've had (a crappy old flip LG, an EnV, and the Voyager) all had this feature. What was verizon thinking? I really hope this can be changed with a software update or something.

You'll have to approximate it by having the camera lens aimed at the middle of the group shot. With experience, you should get better. Maybe even affix a small mirror on the back of the phone near the lens.

Seems like a pretty outta the way solution for a phone that should have this fairly simple feature.. if my crappy voyager could do it this phone should as well... this is probably the only problem I've had yet with this phone... seems like i will be using my voyager for pics still..

You can do this if you have a magnet handy. Just flip the phone open and place a magnet near the "Shift" key on the keyboard and the phone will think that it's closed again. Enjoy.
