when convert my dvd and then tried to play it on my phone it said that the file could not be read.  do i need to save the file as something special before transferring it from my converter program to my phone?  also it breaks the movie, i prefer to have it all in one file.

prgrams and setting used
dvd decoder
any video converter professional
video codec~mpeg4
frame size 720x302
bitrate 256
video framerate 15

edit
i was able to get the mp4 converted file to play, however it is huge (ofcourse) still trying to figure out how to combine them all into one file though.

Try using 3gp if you want a smaller file size.  What converter program are you using?  Most of them have a built-in option to either convert your dvd into a single file or multiple files broken at a certain file size mark or time frame point.

I have an ipod and I also have Cucusoft software which works great I knew that the formats were the same but I coudn't figure out how to watch the files but all I had to do is plug my micro card into the computer then drop and drag. Everything works great now. I'm very happy. I'm sure you can use any mp4 decoder but I already had Cucusoft. By the way the video files are about 300 to 700 mgbs, depending on the movie.
