Problem with Picture Resolution

So I just downloaded a couple pictures off my phone to my laptop, and I had thought they would be huge, since the setting for the resolution was on the highest one, 2048 or something. But they're real small.. like 240 x 320. I just tried taking a couple more pictures with the resolution changed, and I even took the MicroSD out and it still didn't change nothing. They all come out as 240 x 320, or if I turn the phone, 320 x 240. It's really annoying, does anyone know what's going on here?

***EDIT: Well since nobody knew what happened & nobody replied, I just ignored the problem. My phone was resetting a lot so I took it to Verizon. Turns out my software was outdated. So the problem is fixed. The picture resolution being small was a software issue. So anyone else who has this issue, there ya' go.
