Hey folks. The staff has been discussing the possibility of starting something similar to our sister site at voyager-lg.com where the group of dedicated clockmakers regularly compete to show off there custom flash clocks and then let the rest of the community vote for their favorite. I'd like to find out if any of our clockmakers here would be interested in joining in. I'd also like to hear from those members that aren't clockmakers about your interests in seeing this type of contest for you to vote in.

Thanks everyone.

While I don't have the creative and technical skills to make a flash clock, I'd like to provide input to the one I think looks best.  Great idea.  Cool

I can't make them but I can vote on them.
I think it's a great idea.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Not quite the overwhelming responses I was hoping for. And what about from you clockmakers out there? Any of you interested in participating in this type of regular contest to test your skills against your fellow clockmakers? The staff here has discussed offering the established clockmakers over at the voyager site the chance to join in over here if we make a go of it so it could be pretty interesting if we have enough participation from the community.

Ok everyone, seriously the contests are so much fun! They are also an awesome way to get creative and to work on your editing skills as well as actionscript. And for those who aren't into making clocks it is really cool to see everybody's different take on an image or the theme of a contest.

Maybe we should have all you folks from the Voyager site put on a show for the folks over here for our first clock contest so that they can see what it would be like?

Well, I have put out a request to our friends at the Voyager site to see if their clockmaker community would grace us with their talent to try out some contests over here. Maybe they can help to inspire our own members to get more into clockmaking.

Ask him. We will welcome any clockmakers willing to create clocks that can function on the Touch for these contests.

Hello Touch'ers  Wink

I hereby acknowledge Matt's invitation to me to participate in your Flash clock contest when it happens. I'll see if I can adapt my little 'ole LG Dare clock making skillz to the bigger canvas of the enV Touch...  Grin

Happy to have an established clockmaker from one of the sister sites on board. Hopefully we will hear back from a few of the Voyager folks that aren't already part of my staff and we can put on a good show for the community.

I was one of the later members of the Voyager clockmaker guild.  I would be willing to give it a try, but I don't expect to ever actually have access to an enV-Touch phone for testing.  (By the time my 2-year commitment is up, I'm sure Verizon will be selling Android 3.0 or higher phones...).

It would be helpful to us Voyager clockers if we knew the differences between these two phones (screen sizes, frame rate, Flash version, etc.).
