Would it be possible to take a game that is compatible with the env touch from your computer and put it on the SD card and load it onto the phone?

So... if I understand correctly. Bitpim shows file structure.  Then I should be able to copy a .swf to, lets say an external drive, as a back-up.  Wink  Then I could change the games as I wanted from the external drive, right?  But... why won't a game run on the SD?  I don't get it... is it a programmed hard line in the ROM?

And "e-T", not to upset you too much I want to flush this one out.... My family has 3 enV Touch's and I want to trade games between the units.  So here is my olive branch; I am playing movies on my enV Touch.  If you want to open / create a Movie section I will contribute.  Star Trek Xi looks and sounds really good, HD quality! Cool

Correct, games for some reason have to be in the phone's actual memory for the UI to run them, maybe there's a hack to allow otherwise, but I haven't heard or seen it.

Secondly, I think a movie section would rock. :-)

Trying to get this.... maybe we need to start with Bitpim and get his software running with a search, copy and paste functions plus a .swf reader built in.  So far I like what he/ she has done but some positive feed back would help expodite the effort.

We could use a search to locate all the programm pieces then manually copy to another phone.  I am not a programmer... what do you think?

You cannot transfer a game downloaded directly from VZW to another phone because they are tagged specifically to the phone that they are originally downloaded to.

And I can make a movie section for people to discuss movies but you can't share actual movie files through this site (or post links to those files) because it's illegal and the site owner is not willing to risk that kind of legal exposure.

e-T
That I understand...  Huh? I will try to find  mobile games that I can load outside of VZW if at all possible.  Lets do the Movie section.... please send me a reply to this message after you have created it.  I will explain how I have converted and transfered movies to my phone.
thanks,

A new "movies" section would be for discussing movies in general, not how to convert movies to play on the Touch.  Something like that can just stay in the how-to section or with the already existing discussions about converting movies for the Touch in the general discussions area or the camera and video section.

the games preloaded aren't swf, most swf games that you can find on the web that work on the phone in the eztip/world clock slots are generally simplier swf games, plus you won't have sound since those files do not use sound.
