Hey guys, just like the guy a few posts below me I'm also coming from Nextel (Sprint). My dad originally got Nextel for the direct connect about 4 years ago for his business for him, my brother, and me. He has paid for my phone bill ever since I had one, except for the $5/mo I pay for 300 texts. Reception was terrible where I lived and I was getting tired of the same old flip phones (not to mention I had like no choices when I got my phones and they were pretty expensive for not having many features).
My brother left Sprint and went to Verizon during the summer and picked up an Env3. I decided it was time, even though I really liked not having to pay for my own phone plan, and I started looking at phones. A lot of my friends have Verizon so that was where I mainly looked although I did check some others out. I was stuck between the iphone, env touch, and env3 but a few days ago I was told of the 24hr sale on the touch for $79.99 w/ 2yr contract, free activation, and free overnight shipping, so I went for it.
Coming from a flip phone I had no idea what I actually wanted; I like my brother's env3, very nice little compact phone and I liked the physical pad on the outside since I tend to send quick texts in class sometimes and I still wanted to be able to do that. Even though I think I liked the smaller size and the pad on the front (since I've been accustomed to it from using a pad on the front for 4 years), I went with the touch. Its hard to believe the touch is cheaper than the env3, I can't figure that one out.
So my touch came today but I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, hopefully tomorrow. As of now I don't have any data plan but I might get one in the future. I hope I can get used to the touch screen
