Ringtones from Thumbplay will not play. I send them to my phone from my locker, but the message says there is no sound file. Thumbplay says that other enV Touch users have already called about the same issue and they are working on resolving it.

When I try to use the VZW Deluxe Tones app, not all of the ringtones are working. In fact I can't preview most of them. All my other sounds are working on the phone.  I was able to d/l one of the ringtones that I could preview...so at least I have one!  I like to have a different song for each contact so I know who is calling.

Also, I am having trouble putting music files on my phone. I tried to import 2 cd's from my iTunes. When I sync my phone, it appears that the files are transferring but they don't end up on the phone. I was able to transfer 4 songs that my sons' band recorded. They were .wav files and not copyright protected so I'm not sure which is the issue for my other songs.  Maybe I should try uploading a CD directly into the Vcast music program?

Thanks for your help!
Terry

*Moved to a more appropriate section for discussion*

I'm not familiar with Thumbplay so I can't really offer any advice on that issue.  If you could explain a little about the file types they use and how they deliver the ringtones to you, that may help a little.

Any problems with an app that Verizon actually puts out, I would defintely call them to complain about it so they can get started on a fix ASAP.

iTunes has a history of problems with loading music to Verizon phones, especially LG models.  Most of the time it's an issue of their copyright encryption.  The most basic solution I recall reading about (since I don't use any of Apple's products) is to burn the songs to a cd and then rip them back to your computer in mp3 format and then trying to load them to your phone again.  It's not a pretty solution and hopefully someone else can offer an easier one but it should work.

Thanks...I thought about trying that, or just loading the CD directly into VCast instead of importing it from iTunes.

I was on the phone a long time with tech support yesterday, they are aware of my problem with VZW Deluxe. I guess we just have to wait & see if it happens to other people or if it's a problem with my phone.

Thanks for moving this thread. :-)

I never use a program to load my music onto a phone.  I have always found it simpler to just drag and drop files onto the memory card directly.

Oh that's a good idea.

I have a terrible time getting the silly little card in & out of the adapter though. I dread doing it when I need to get photos off my card, lol.

I'm not 100% positive about the Touch but the Voyager is able to act as a USB card reader so that an adapter is not necessary if you don't like using one.  Look under settings & tools --> tools section in the menu and scroll down to look for something called USB Mass Storage.

Oh now that makes perfect sense! I didn't have a USB cable for my other phones, but the music I transferred on to my new phone went straight to the card.

DUH, see that's why this forum will help me so much!  Wink

I went to the Verizon store today, and apparently there was an available update to my phone that someone missed when I bought it.  However it can be done directly from the handset through the Settings/Tools menu. Just go to Phone Info and scroll down to 'Software Updates'.

The update fixed my music files...files that I had previously transferred to my phone were there. However it didn't fix the problem with Thumbplay ringtones. Thumbplay is addressing that issue from their end.

Just a helpful tip, you can email ringtones you have saved on your computer to younumber@vzwpix.com. Open the message, let it download, options> save as ringtone.

Just in case someone didn't know about that already  Wink

If anyone else uses Thumbplay, the sound files are working via text message now!
