Hello,

Not sure where to post this thread, so Ill just do it here.

I have recently bought a PNY 8GB microSD card. However, after placing it into the port in my phone, it seems to be malfunctioning, i.e. I tried to move a picture from my phone memory to the card via 'media center'->'pics and video'->'my pics'->options-> manage pics-> and trying to move a selected pic from phone to card. The card is a SDHC and Im wondering if the Touch isnt an SDHC host. I havent played around with the card on my computer at home yet,ie playing around with the directories, looking into user manual, etc.

I think this is close enough to what I have.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks.

did you format the card from your phone?

(Go to Settings>Memory>Card Memory and click format located at the bottom of the screen. It will ask you for your code, which is your last 4 digits of your cell phone number).

Test the card in a card reader and connect it to your computer to make sure that the card isn't defective.  If your phone can't format the card, you might not be able to use it with the phone.

Will do. Do you know if the Touch can read SD and SDHC or just SD?

All cards up to at least 16GB.  I think it handles the 32GB, as well, but can't recall anyone confirming that right at this moment.

No luck. I tried inserting the microSD into the ... regular SD thing and into my computer, and it didnt even come up on my computer. I am going to go back and get a refund/get another 8 gb one.

FYI, the touch does support microSDHC so thats not the problem.

I went back to the store and got a full refund a bought a new one. i thinkitsthe SanDisk 8GB MicroSDHC one. it works and im pretty pumped. thankss for the help.

realize that not all card readers can do sdhc (whether micro or not).  i had to buy a new card reader even though it was a 19-in-1 card reader.  reads everything in the book except SDHC and microSDHC.  now i have a 32-in-1 card reader.

if you stick a sdhc in a normal card reader, it'll pop up but you won't be able to read or write to it.
