It does not seem that long ago that I upgraded from my LG 3300x flip to my Touch.  As I look at it I keep thinking that it's still new (I keep good care of it[thanks Zagg]).  Over the time that I have had it I have learned a lot about this phone.  The one thing that amazes me is the amount of hatred given toward this phone.  I have read a lot of horror stories and often wondered how much of it was self-induced.  What did they do it.

This is the only Touch I have had, and with no issues.  Well, almost.  I got bit by ver. 10 but I found a fix for it the first day it acted up.  I have played with the hidden service features, used bitpim for many things and have an awsome custom clock made by lilgreengoblin (one of these days I will ask her who LC is)!!  There are a lot of things I have done with this phone and it's still going strong (OK, get to the point already).

My two year contract is about up and I don't think I am going to upgrade it.  I like this one to much.  So, with all this being said, how many of had problems, like/hate this phone and are going to change when your 2 year mark is hit?

I have V-Cast, Navigator and unlimited data (I tether the phone to the laptop). I don't think I can duplicate this service for the same price on a new phone.  With high unemployment, rising healthcare costs, and general inflation, I am hoping this phone will last...

Any suggestions?  I hear the new plans are more expensive. Angry

I too have Vcast and unlimited data, at the old cost of 9.99 a month. Grin  Vcast, Navigator, text, email, ESPN, NFL, Mobile Banking......  How can you go wrong?  So I don't have .ppt or .doc.  For the price I can't complain.  I don't see myself changing phones anytime soon.

Glad to hear that. Smiley

I got this phone in June 2009 shortly after it was released and it's still going strong (knock on wood, original phone).  My bro, OTOH, is on his 4th phone, I believe.  Then again, he doesn't have a nice case for it like I do and is probably rougher on his phone.

My next phone, most likely this summer will most likely be an Android phone.  (Definitely not an iPhone!)  And that means I'll finally have to get a data plan.

I was thinking about a Driod at one time but quickly talked myself out of it.  Hope you can get a discount on that data plan wulf.  $30 extra a month you may have to get a second job. Tongue

im coming up on 20 months on my Touch too, it has been a great phone (despite the fact that i cannot move from kv04). it has endured the abuse of factory life and a klutzy owner. it has done many faceplants onto hard concrete and it still operates flawlessly. i am not seeing any phones out ATM that would be a suitable replacement for mine. i especially like the keyboard, its size, layout, and feel are superior to other sliders and such. great job LG.

if you are like me though, you will use everybit of the data you are paying for. I love my droid, I can't wait for the 4g droids to come out Smiley.

So how much do you get out of the Droid?  I have seen a few and have been able to mess around with them but just have not seen a reason to switch over yet.  What is it that you have seen since you switched?  Convince me that I should switch from the EnVTouch to the Droid. Tongue

Yeah, I would want to do that.  However, part of me is thinking to go w/ the medium data plan (200 MB or in that range) and just try to use Wi-Fi for data whenever and wherever possible.  Cool

well I am able to stream a bunch of tv for free which is nice. I am able to find free apps for just about everything I want. The multitasking is cool. I have an app that I can pretty much download any song I want for free. Free, google navigation is nice, free radio apps and pandora are definetely worth having, my free book readers, drawing apps etc. I guess it all depends what you want out of your phone. I loved my voyager, but after have a smart phone for six months, I am not sure I could go back to just a multi media phone. did I mention my tricorder app lol, it makes the extra 15 a month all worth it.

Pandora and the Tricorder app makes it very appealing.  I wished I had them for the Touch.  Never used the google nav before but have use the VZ nav a few times.  Pandora.  It works ok however, most vehicles I have been in have a nav system to include my Jeep, Harley and my Hatteras Sport Fish so no real need for it on the phone.  Did I mention I don't have Pandora.  To be able to talk and use the net at the same time would be great and I could have used that feature many of times. Angry Bird, Pandora.  Not very many apps for the Touch, or I should say free apps and I am somewhat disappointed with VZ in that aspect especially when they are still selling the phone.  Pandora.  If I had more spare time away from home like riding the rail or flying maybe all the other features would entice me more.  You can't deny how nifty they are though and how much they can do.  Soon you can say goodbye to the netbook or tablet and replace it with a smart phone.  I think it's safe to say that there will soon be a time when I own one.
