I still have not figured it out with this newer ver. of mobile email.  Three settings and none shut it off completely Angry.  In my spare time I keep looking for a work around but have not found anything yet.

I found the setting, finally.  Open your mobile email (you may see some mail), hit the center button (the one between the answer and hangup/power button).  Next to your name will be a drop down box.  Hit that and that opens up options.  You will see your name settings and under that is general settings (I always get to see just the gen settings until I did this).  Select your settings, not general, and you will find the "Notify on new mail".  Hit that to select off.  Your all set!!  Wink
EDIT: You might want to hit the box above it also, "Auto-receive msg".  That will keep it from checking every 5 min.

it took me forever to find that too. i like the new layout of the email and capabilities, but i like the old programs notification settings WAY better.
