Didn't want to pay the outrageous LG price for a car charger so I got a generic cheapie. Despite the "this charger is not compatible" message, the charger charges the phone just fine, but the phone gets quite warm during charging. My LG wall charger does not make the phone warm. Is it OK to use this charger? 90%of the time I use the wall charger but once in a while I forget, and need to charge it in the car.

Don't know for sure but I if you want to be safe and don't mind spending money on another one. I purchased mine from here http://www.wirelessground.com/verizonmicro.html. I don't get the not compatible message nor does my phone get warm. Well at least I haven't noticed a difference.

I've had good customer service over the years with DiscountCell. I tried generic car chargers and two times they broke. This time I bought the original LG brand... they hold up and cost less than the Verizon brand. http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/p/SGCC0003402

On a related note, where's the best place to buy the USB cable if I already have the car charger part? I'd prefer not having to bring the USB cable that came w/ my phone back and forth from my computer and car and would prefer to keep the 2nd USB cable in the car. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. How much is shipping? It seems a bit pricey at $7.95 + shipping, but it's at least a viable option.

Don't recall, but it was much cheaper than going through Verizon. And I did research them on Amazon.com but like this one better. Hope this helps

Hmmm, but that says for Virgin and sprint models of the LG Rumor Touch. This is the one you want from Amazon ... cost about the same with shipping. LG Data Cable

I figured since it's LG, the generic cables would be the same for VX11000 (enV Touch) and Rumor Touch. But $9 still isn't bad.
