I just resurrected my EnVtouch.  I live in a very rural area and got the Samsung Convoy for the signal.  I've only had it for a few months and missed my EnV.  Will save Convoy for the hubbie.  My signal is awful where I live so there is not much sense in getting a smart phone.  I did have the latest update installed V11, I believe.  I love this phone.  The signal appears to be about the same.  My question is with the latest version should I be able to get on facebook?  It seems I got some kind of message saying "Polaris didn't support it" or something like that.  Also, I only get one or maybe two bars outside of my house.  Is there a third party signal booster repeater that would help me in my rural home?  Because I'm retired, I do most of my networking on my home computer, but would like to have the stronger signal at the house.

Welcome back.  I don't of any signal booster but 1 or 2 bars should be fine.  I have noticed very little loss in speed when I have 4 bars or 2 bars.  As for facebook, I have used it but then I just started an account so I have not put it through its paces.  Give it a shot.

Actually, the 1 or 2 bars are outside of my home.  Part of my problem with signal on the inside of the house is it has a metal roof in addition I have metal siding (older home).  I was thinking I should probably get some kind of signal booster with an antenna on the outside connected to a repeater on the inside.  At least I might get 1 or 2 bars on the inside of the house.  However, I know nothing about these things and thought I would ask if anyone has used a similar set up.

Ah, a few more details.  I have never run into this problem so my research into this is very limited.  Try this link to CNET.  It may be from 2008 but it is a start.
