I know so many people with different versions of the EnV. Ive heard how popular they are from sales reps and many owners. This could have been some of the reasoning in the name. To get the happy EnV users to step up to the next level. Worked for me, lol.

It's too bad they couldn't get the Voyager 2 name, that sounds cool.
enV Touch isn't bad though, but I would have gone with a different, new name.

I just call it "the touch". Seems to work for me. Everyone that passes my desk sees and picks it up. One guy stops every time he passes. I finally said "you can play with it if you want" and he did!

lol yeah everyone at school is like WHAT PHONE IS THAT?? and if I say enV Touch people are like "what? that looks like the voyager!" then i explain to them why its called enV and how it really isnt an env at all. and THEN gotta explain the difference between it and the enV 3... jesus christ. They really shoulda come up with a better name. Or maybe i'll just start calling it the voyager 2

IMHO I don't care for the name. I mean it makes it seem like its another enV upgrade. I just wish it coulda been called the Voyager 2, it woulda been cooler. Having a Voyager now, it's like it's not comparable to the enV. Having that name makes it seem like their comparable. Lol, it'll prolly always be the Voyager 2 to me. :/

I say that it's just a name! It really doesn't matter, what matters is the hardware and software and LG nailed it when it comes to both. So really I couldn't care less about the name, it really makes no difference!

I tend to like "simple" names for devices as it makes them easier to remember, thus easier to market IMHO, and think they could have called it simply "V2" since they couldn't use the Voyager name. But all-in-all I really don't care what it is called as long as it works.

The problem with even considering V2 for this phone's name is that they actually already used "The V" for the 9800's name, which was the grandfather of the Voyager. This family goes, 9800 "V", 9900 "enV", 10000 "Voyager". Throwing V2 in there for the 11000 would be even further backwards than enV Touch.

I didn't realize that, thanks for the info. It makes sense. I have always used Cingular/AT&T service and Sony Ericsson phones and am just now switching to Verizon so I am not as familiar with LG and Verizon history.

I like the name! I had the original "V" when it came out and it got stolen I always loved LG phones and was upset to part with it, but I had a few LG's afterwards and I can't say enough good things about this phone. I am so happy with it and have heard pretty much nothing but goodt hings about the phone from everyone! I'm glad to be back in the V family

I 'm above the middle mark on it, leaning towards like it. But they should have called it something like, "LG Expose"

The name was basically a cop-out. I don't think most folks outside this forum understand the history, so maybe it doesn't matter.
