Sorry if this was already posted, I did scroll through the majority of this category and haven't seen this question yet.

Do I need a case, and do I need a screen protector?

I'm very careful with my phones - I never drop them. I have an ipod touch that I do have in a case, but I also have never dropped that (I have the case simply because i carry that around in my purse and don't want to get it scratched).

What's the scoop on a case for the env touch (getting on October 15th, the day I can upgrade my plan). How easy does it get scratched?

Thanks in advance!

Same here.  And while I had never gotten a screen protector before (never had a touch cell phone before either), I've always gotten a case w/ carrying clip and highly recommend it for those who don't always put the phone in their pocket but rather just clip it to the belt.  Cool

So, in general, I'd recommend getting a carrying case and at least the external screen protector.  The internal screen protector is not really necessary.  If you don't get a carrying case, then maybe you can get the full phone plastic protector (like the full InvisibleShield), but I don't have any experience with that.

It would be a wise investment. Even if yo're careful, just carrying the phone in your pocket without any kind of protection it will start to collect small scratches, and over time, all those scratches will eventually make it look like crap. If you buy a case and screen protectors now while it's new, it will still look new 2 years from now.  Cool
