I hate to beat a dead horse fellas but I am pulling my hair out.

I have been trying for quite a few hrs now, searching for a solution and I have not come across one yet. I have the LG USB drivers installed, BitPim 1.0.7 official from bitpim.org, the phone is set to Modem and I cannot get BitPim to detect my phone (1100v4). i see my phone listed in the PORTS and MODEMS sections of my device manager and it will connect just fine as USB Mass Storage if i tell it to.

I have tried connecting on both ports as well as using the Voyager setting and it still will not connect to the phone. I have a copy of the Protocol Log for my attempts on both ports if that is any use to anyone.

You shouldn't have to switch to modem mode.  I too had problems at first using bitpim.  I found powering down the phone and then connecting to the 'puter, leaving phone off, and then start up bitpim I connect with no issues.  Give that a shot.

Is BitPim still supported?  They haven't released a new version in about a year, since 1.07.  Huh?

alright so i brought my phone to verizon today to see if they could update me off of the kv04 software to no avail. they could not get it to communicate with their update system. WTF!? i tried using the LG Mobile Updater and that stalls out about 30% through its 'checking the connection with the cell phone' phase. maybe this is part of my problem, although it will syc for media and data transfers. anyone have any ideas?

Do you live near CT?  I'm sure I could get it to work.

Probably not Wulf, but it never hurts to try.  If it doesn't the folks at SourceForge do an excellent job and just a simple request could spark something.  With the ever fluid progression in tech and what it takes to mod these devises the more programs evolve to do such tasks.

Could be, but I'm thinking that since more and more are smartphones, esp. Androids, many of their apps and data can be backed up by the user.  But yeah, you're right that it doesn't hurt to try "close enough" phones. Smiley
