Bitpim detects my phone but when trying to access the file system or anything else on the phone, I get the following error:

Device needs attention - LG-VX11000 (enV Touch) on COM21
LG-VX11000 (enV Touch) on COM21: The phone is not responding while transitioning mode from none to brew.

Anyone know what might be causing this error?

I wish I knew what the error you stated was but... I have no idea. HOWEVER... I downgraded BP (BitPim) from 1.0.7(whatever) back to 1.0.6 (stable version).. even though the latest was LG Voyager (LG VX10000), it still worked fine with my LG EnV Touch. The beta/test version doesn't work with the EnV Touch.. It did detect my phone, but... while that happened, my phone froze so I had to take the battery out and replace the battery back in the phone. I have no idea why this happens. My theory is that: 1) BP hasn't supported the LG EnV Touch yet, and 2) they haven't made it a stable version of BP (other than 1.0.6.). So... my advice is that you upgrade or downgrade to/from whatever BP version you have to 1.0.6... that should work.

Thanks for the response.  Is it necessary to downgrade and connect to the Voyager or can I use the latest beta and use the Voyager settings to connect to the Touch.  In other words, I realize you are suggesting to use the Voyager but does it matter if you use the Voyager settings in the latest beta vs the latest official release?

Wow.. I have no idea because I haven't tried that before. However, I would not do that because you might brick your phone; that is, make it either lockable or... maybe useless? I'd be careful if I were you. As for the missing file, maybe do a Google search on what you're looking for. :-)
