I tried updating on my laptop, and I got the infinite driver loop.
But it didn't happen with v08.

I switched to my desktop, and the update went flawlessly.
So far, I've noticed nothing different.

as I stated in the "not updating" thread. you'll have to use LGNPST to update to V08, then the LG updater will allow your phone to update to V09.  then you'll have to fix the browser manually.  see the related threads on www.envtouch.org .

Took my phone to the Verizon store today.  They only had V08.  I had them update my phone from V07 to V08.  Then I came home and used the LG Updater to update to V09.  The update was flawless.  Took about 10 minutes.  As stated before, if you have V07 the Updater will NOT allow you to go directly to V09.  You must have V08 first.  LOVE this new browser.   Cheesy  Finally!  This is the browser the phone should have had from the beginning.  You can zoom the font size as large as you like, and you don't have to keep clicking the zoom button to do it.  All you do is hold the button down and it'll zoom fast, and the text wraps.  No more ridiculous scrolling from side to side to see the full page.  The best part is, it kept all of my "Favorites", even the RSS feeds!  I didn't have to reset anything.

Thanks for the updates.  Darn - so it looks like we can't go directly from V07 to V09.  Bummer.  I wonder what V09 has that V08 doesn't.  I don't use the Web from my enV Touch, so I wonder if it's worth going to a VZW store to update it.  Huh?

Nope, it's not worth updating to V08 or V09 if you don't use the Web.  That is, unless you're having stability issues.  Other than the new browser, so far I haven't found anything different from V07 in either V08 or V09.  I just got V09 today, so I'll have to play around with it to see if there's anything new.  If so, I'll post here.

How do you add RSS feeds to the Polaris browser in V09?  I see how to access them, but I don't see a provision to add additional feeds.

Thanks for the update.  If/when LG fixes stuff like T9 not remember custom words, then I'll def. make the upgrade.  Otherwise, I won't bother unless I just happen to go to a VZW store to play with the Droid a little more.  Grin

Good to know, I don't use the browser so I won't bother anymore.  I tried updating from home on Vista and could not get past the driver loop.  I tried at work and got a "not supported" error mentioned earlier in this thread after the file download.  Anyone know if this is available in stores yet?  I'm always leary to leave my phone w/them.  I don't trust those technicians w/my personal contacts, calendar and whatever else is on the phone.

Did it do anything besides the phone?  My V08 doesn't really reboot my browser unless I'm on the Settings screen and hit the end key, lol.

I installed LGNPST to allow updating from V7 to V8 but I need the DLL files.  Can anyone provide me a direct link?  Thanks much!

BTW...love this place.  The sharing of knowledge is great!
