Cool, so I guess it's working now.  I haven't tried w/ my phone yet.  Not sure if it's even worth the bricking risk since I don't use the Web from it.

Anyone noticing any weird restart issues with version 9?  I get them while web browsing and scrolling through playlists in the internal screen.  Didn't have them with version 7.

My second phone, a Touch,  updated to 100%.  The new browser will not launch... it just reboots.  Can I fix this from home or am I going to the Verizon store?

Anyone able to update recently?
I'm at v08 and I've been trying to get past the "downloading data..." part of the update and nothing's happening. No progress bar percentage, nothing. It just stays there forever until it says there's an error getting information.

Spoke to a live chat representative from LG and he said that v09 wasn't available through the mobile update, only in Verizon stores...

Edit: @debbieandjon you can fix it at home if you have Bitpim.

Copied from envtouch.org -
18. Download and install BitPim from http://www.bitpim.org/#download . Run BitPim, and it should recognize your connected and POWERED ON phone. If it doesn't auto-recognize it, go to Edit>Settings>Phone Type: LG-VX11000. If it asks your for a name, you can put whatever. Go to View>View File System and make sure it is checked. In the left pane, click Filesystem, and in the next pane, click the + sign and allow BitPim to load your entire phone's directory.
19. Go to the "brew" folder and open that directory, and then go into "mod," then go down until you see a polaris7 folder and an obigo folder. This is the reason the phone crashes, it tries to run both web browsers. Additionally, the polaris7 folder is incomplete. However, it is a good idea to back up both of these folders by right clicking on them and backing up those directories to your desktop or somewhere.
20. Now, delete both the polaris7 and the obigo folder from your phone. Right click on the mod folder, and choose Restore, then polaris7.zip file you downloaded. It should show all the files about to be restored to the phone. Make sure they are being restored to brew/mod/polaris7. Also, the file which is to be restored to brew/mod/polaris7/security/certtrustedca/eir_8080.der will not work, so uncheck that file, and then restore the files.
21. Once this is done, you should have a properly working web browser, which you can check by running it on your phone.

Here's the polaris7.zip file.

I will be getting my FIFTH Touch tomorrow.  I spent about and hour and a half in a verizon store Friday and walked out with a phone that STILL does not work correctly.  I've sent a rather strongly worded email to Verizon's Corperate Responsibility email address.  At this point I am SO disgusted with the way verizon has handled this.

I found out that I discovered a glitch within the Polaris 7 browser that up until I brought it to their attention no one knew about.  After sending me Touch after Touch that don't operate properly, I've been offered a Samsung Rogue.  My problem with all of this is the fact that this is my third contract with Verizon Wireless.  I've been with the company for going on 6 years now.  Every contract has been started with a phone of MY choosing.  But now that I'm having problems I've basically been told that my choices are as follows.  1) Keep getting a flawed Touch (Refurbished of course); 2) Accept a Refurbished Samsung Rogue; or 3) pay an absurd amount to get a brand NEW phone.

I say, if they're going to give me a refurb...why can't I get a refurbished Droid...or some other phone of my choosing...At one point I was perhaps willing to accept such idiocy.  BUT after my girlfriend and I spent all that time at the Verizon Store just to walk out with no resolution (Oh, by the way Store reps can no longer switch you from a device that doesn't work to a device that does ie from one model to another) Oh...not to mention the fact that they told me to go home and call National Customer support....What a joke.

Like I said, at one point I was maybe open to the idea of the Samsung Rogue.  But after all this...I am going to fight until I get what I want.  And honestly...From what I've read, I'm not the only one gettin' the shaft from Verizon.  I say WE ALL fight for what we want...Which are phones of our choosing that friggin' work!

That'd be awesome if the phones they keep sending me actually have an obigo browser.  My issue isn't a conflict between the Polaris and Obigo browsers...In fact between Verizon and LG no one seems to know what's going on, nor is anyone really willing to do much of anything to make it right.  It's pretty bad when you go INTO a verizon store because you figure you'll be able to get more help from them than you are getting from the National Customer service Line and the store associates shrug their shoulders and tell you to go call national customer service.

@ExplodedCaesar

What exactly is the problem then?

If the problem isn't between the Obigo and Polaris7 browsers conflicting with each other and just a glitchy Polaris7, maybe you can try overwriting your existing Polaris7 in Bitpim you have with the file I linked above.

If you clear all the memory from the advanced settings menu within the browser, the browser crashes causing the phone to power-cycle all on its own...And that's the predictable crash.  Other times it'll crash for no apparent reason, again causing a power-cycle.  No one seems to know why.

I followed the steps you described.  Once I started the browser, I went...cleared all the memory, then went to navigate to a site....Crash.

The Verizon store in 92677 was understaffed. Unacceptable waiting.  I pay these effen sob's $1540 a year for crap service. The tech offered to send me a replacement VX11000 because... they were out of stock...  I asked for the phone to be flashed first.  She took it in back and came out 5 minutes later without a fix. Angry Now I'll be waiting for FedEx.

- i have not yet to have any problems with the restart while browsing the net or anything but love the new layout .

* when i asked them the most recent update they said vk011?!!?! i was like whua
i thought the 8/9 just barley came out what happend to 10 haha but when i checked the phone was vk9.
* sales rep said that the only changes were battery life/browser  Roll Eyes

^ Oh, so battery life is supposed to be improved w/ V09 vs. V07?  Hmm, then maybe it's an upgrade I might want to do since I don't care about the browser update.

...perceived battery life is such a crapshoot, the battery meter fluctuates like the tides on mine phone.  My current battery is less than 6 months old ... so I must have really tripped something up with it's memory, lol.

LOL, I hear you.  I've had my battery fluctuate from 1 bar to 3 bars and back as if it's the signal strength indicator.  Oh well - I guess the VZW employee was just BS'ing to bbun that the battery was also improved in this latest firmware.

Under ideal battery conditions, yeah I can see battery life improving...however I partial charge mine (baaaad user) so often I'm pretty sure I've fried some of its insides.
