Got a refurb with V08 loaded.  I'm not gonna mess with it unless someone can say definitively that V09 is better...    Roll Eyes

Using the LG Updater on Windows XP with the Touch already at ver 7 failed miserably.

Since my son's Samsung Intensity needed to be repaired, I asked the tech (unfortunately, unprofessional & rude where we went today) to upgrade my Touch to v09.

It went through, though the folks at this Verizon store could sure use some customer service skills!

But I did notice that some things are different, like the first letter of a text message being capitalized (FINALLY!!!) and the improved browser...

Wondering what others of you have noticed that has changed?

Oh sweet, so V09 has auto capitalization?!  That's a huge bug fix if that's true.

Pre V08 if you got a text and hit messages then side swiped on the touch screen the text order would be messed up.  Now they fixed it so you can sort through correctly

EDIT: nevermind still broken

I finally decided to upgrade to v09 from my (stable) v08 to see about the auto-caps. I am definitely not getting any auto caps. Hopefully v09 is as stable as my 08 was.

Yes, good point, but that's the way I text, using the internal QWERTY keyboard.  I don't use the external "keyboard" w/ T9 for texting.

Looks like others have said that the real keyboard way of texting still doesn't support auto-cap.  Oh well, I guess I won't make it a high priority to upgrade from my current V07 firmware. Sad

I had just started using the internal keyboard after seven months of using the external. Heard it saves battery. Only reason I noticed this.
External only capitalizes the first word of the text, after punctuation you're on your own.
