 Hey guys,

Im trying to update my ENV-TOUCH. The updater says the phone needs to be updated. But all it will do is try to install the USB driver. It says its successful everytime. But when i click the pinkish "start updating" button it starts all over with the usb 4.9.7 update over and over.

 plz help =D

Gotta take it to the store dude.  If you are having any trouble at all with the LG Updater, its the only smart thing to do.  Not worth ruining your phone.

Please try the following procedure to remove the USB driver, then manually install.

Disconnect your EnV Touch. Unplug the USB cable.

Download LGUSBModem driver 4.9.7 here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/USBSW/CDMA/EG/LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.9.7_All_Win7_20100222.zip

Note the download location.

Extract the .zip archive.

Go to Windows Add/Remove programs.

Uninstall the LGUSBModem driver.

Reboot the compter.

Launch Windows Explorer and go to where you extracted the .zip archive.

Next, find then double click on the file

LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.9.7_All_Win7.exe

to install the driver for the enV Touch.

Reboot the computer.

Turn the enV Touch off. Shut down the phone.

Leave the battery in. Do not remove the power pack.

Now connect the VX11000 to a USB port. Windows should should go through the found new hardware, etc. routine. The phone screen should show the 'battery charging' message and the green square progression.

You should now be able to update and avoid the USB driver install loop.

Please try it and report back.

That means the LG update software is not up to date.

The latest version is 1.0.1.7.

Download the B2CAppSetup.exe here (~245 kb):
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe

Unplug the enV Touch.

Uninstall the current LGMobile Support Tool (Start --> Programs --> LGMobile Support Tool --> Uninstall).

Execute the file B2CAppSetup.exe to install version 1.0.1.7.

Then, once again, try to fly.

Hope there is success this time.

The update server must be down this morning because when I tired to connect to see if I could update my wife's phone the program wouldn't even start. It got to about 25% of the loading bar and hung there. I figured it was trying to d/l an update so we went to the grocery store and when we came back it hadn't moved. I tried reinstalling the USB drivers and the updater program on my desktop and the updater won't even install and I assume that's because it can't contact the update server even to install itself. I tried it on my laptop and got the same result. I disabled the wireless on my laptop and retried the updater and it protested that it couldn't connect to the update server so that is definitely the sticking point.

Now the software is connecting to the server and recognizing the phone. It shows the correct model number and software version. The VX 11000 is in the supported phones showing the available update as V07. When I choose update it goes to the update screen and checks various things and after checking the phone details it says that this software update for this phone is not supported. Very frustrating.

I tried the steps in Reply #2 to get the update done on my desktop but could not get the USB loop to go away. I re-tried it on my laptop and the update was successful. Version 7 is on the phone and the contact list is intact.

you can't go from v07 to v09. you'll have to use LGNPST to update to V08 with the .bin file first, then LG updater will let you update to V09. then you'll have to fix the browser manually within bitpim after that.

Im having the same issues where it says "Not Support Version". im not sure what LGNPST is. Also, for some reason, im still on 05.

probably the best thing to do then is to take it to a VZW store and update it to V08 and then come home and use the updater and get V09

I updated at home to V09; i get reboots when I scroll up and down through my playlists but so far that's it/  unfortunately I have a lot of playlists and use them everyday so this glitch is a real pain in the coin purse.
