First time poster needing help.  I updated to V10 a couple of weeks ago.  Everything was fine.  I sent a mass text on Saturday and the phone went haywire.  It power cycled every 30 secs to 1 min.  Phone was unusable.  Took it to Verizon yesterday.  They noticed the problem and gave me a new one.  That phone started flickering while they were setting it up.  They gave me yet another one.  (With V10)  It was working great for a couple of hours until I sent another mass text letting family know my phone worked again.  Phone started power cycling every 30 secs to 1 min. again.  Unusable.  Putting it in Airplane mode stopped the power cycling.  I called Verizon.  They have no clue.  Sending me another phone and they hoped it would not have V10 on it.  They couldn't guarantee anything.  Does anyone know of a fix?  Can I revert to V9?  If so, how?  Thanks!

Same thing was happening to me last friday. I imagined it had something to do with v10 but I just decided to get an incredible instead. I would be interested in rolling back the firmware but don't think it will stay on long enough. I'll try the airplane mode. I would think you could use the LG software through my computer to flash back to the v9.

I can't find a way to revert to V9.  Maybe the phone they send me will be V9.  I should get it tomorrow.

I'm sorry for your power cycle problem but am glad I didn't update mine yet. Mine is flashed to Cricket and there's  no way Verizon would give me a new one if that occurred on mine. I guess I'll just deal with the occasional cycle glitch.
I hope you find  a solution, good luck .

I downloaded the update last week.  Within a couple of days my phone began rebooting almost constantly.  I had to take the battery out to stop it.  I was about to decide my phone was history.  Then I thought I'd take the memory card out and try it.  I left it turned off for several minutes.  Without my memory card, I have been using my phone for three days with no problems at all.  It makes me wonder if the update has caused my card to be incompatible with my phone.  I just hope my phone keeps working.  It's the best phone I've ever had.  Before the update I had version 9.  On that version my phone only rebooted occasionally when I turned on Bluetooth mode.

I tried taking the memory card out an it worked as well.  however, when I sent a mass text it started the constant powercycling again.  I just received a replacement with V9.  I will not update.  The only disappointment is the new phone can't find the mobile e-mail app.  It has the old mobile email but not the new mobile e-mail that lets you click on links and phone numbers.

Same thing happened to me.  I updated OTA to V10 and within a few days my phone was power-cycling every 30 seconds.  I called Verizon and was sent a replacement the next day with V09.  No problems with the new one... and will not be updating to V10 now that I see I wasn't the only one experiencing this problem after the update.

After a week of V10, I to noticed the power cycling this morning.  Very annoying.  After reading a few different forums it was not hard to figure out that the phone was trying to get some kind of info for in Airplane mode all was fine.  Tried the trick of switching to nam2 and let it program and reboot.  Switch back to nam1, *228 to program and reboot and no more power cycling.  Cool

You have to be quick while doing this so the annoying reboot does not stop you in mid stream.  If it does it will not do anything to the phone, so no worries there.  Power up the phone and quickly head to Settings and Tools, then to Phone Settings and at the bottom hit NAM select and select NAM 2.  Once your in NAM2 the phone will not power down.  It should also dial *228 on its own to program.  If it does not then dial *228 and as soon as you hear the voice hit 1 for programming.  It will download the location of the towers around you and update the phone.  It will reboot for the changes to take affect.  Now the phone is using NAM2 and will not reboot on it's own, but you can not use your phone to send or receive.  Now go back into your settings and select NAM1 and quickly dial *228 and as soon as you have connected(you hear the voice)hit 1 to reprogram.  Reboot and you will be fine.  I have sent and received txt, vid, and voice msg.'s, watched Start Trek on Vcast, surfed NFL and the Web with no issues since I have done this trick.
Let me know how you make out.

oh man i guess this just stuck me today.
worked fine last week after the v10 OTA.
this just this morning , was texting / surfing at church ( thought i was punished   )
and bam eleventy billion restart.
(only time i notice that it didnt restart was on USB MASS mode)

i tried the NAM trick but as soon after switching back to NAM1 it restarted so quick i couldnt even dial...

UPDATE : got back to NAM1 and did the *228, after restart got 30 txt msgs, no restart yet * crosses fingers**

** use the keyboard when trying to do this **
after getting into SETTING , dont bother to scroll down choose options as you have ~30secs to do this. ITS #7, #9

good luck.

I did the nam2 reboot trick last night to stop the power cycles. My phone has just gone into a power cycle frenzy turning off/on every 60 seconds. I hope LG/Verizon is working on solving this V10 problem.

Glad that it worked for you bbum.  Good tip on using the keyboard.  That should cut down the time to make the switch and dial.  One other point, it make take a few attempts to get through it all due to the cycle.  Just hang in there.

Encar, were you able to switch back to NAM1 and update it using *228?

CptTom: I was able to get back to Nam1 and it worked ok for a few hours. I even fell asleep with the internet vz home page on for 5 hours and it did not power cycle. Then about 20 minutes later it went into a power cycle every 30 seconds.  it would cycle stay on for 30 seconds and cycle again. It eventually stopped clcling after 20 minutes and I put it in airplane mode. It has not done it since.
