Unfortunately in Airplane mode you can't use it.  Note how in NAM2 or Airplane mode everything is fine for it is not able to seek a tower for what ever reason it is trying to do.  Mine also started up again 2 hours after the first fix with a certain vid msg someone was trying to send me.  I did the same trick again and all is ok.  I can hardly wiat to see what vzw is going to do about this.  I have not heard a thing about a fix.  In the meantime, as long as I can keep fixing the problem I will.  I'm on 2 days now with no issues.

Ok guess I will try the Namt trick again. Before this it only power cycled a few times a day. But, it would turn off and NOT turn back on. I would have to turn it on manually. A warranty center rep walked me through a process involving taking out the battery that solved the problem for a couple days. I will call back the center and get that procedure memorized. This was before the V10 update so I am not sure if it will work now.

Well, I talked to the warranty rep and they suggested I go the the VZW store and get a replacement. The rep told me they have'nt heard of any issues of V10 causing problems. And that for the most part it has worked well and solved the issues with most people. Also stated that you can't rely on the info posted on forums. The rep also told me that all the replacement phones already are flashed with V10. I may have to hang around the VZW store for a while after I get the phone just in case.  Need to download Media manager so I can back up all the stuff first.

This is the same canned response I got.  The forums are obviously right as we have experienced these problems ourselves.  The store replacements are flashed to V10.  however, most replacements that come directly from Verizon are not.  I got one from the store that had V10 and the infinite reboots.  Then, I called Verizon and they sent me one directly.  It has V9 and all is good again.

I can believe that.  I will take my chance at a store. I will call ahead and see if I can find a store with V09 if they can look that up for me. Maybe V10.5 or V11 the fix all update will be out soon. Of course who knows what that will do to the phone? I did ask the warranty center rep if Env-touch2 came out could Env-touch users get a free upgrade but the rep said they could not do that and had no info on the Env-touch 2. They did say anything is possible as far as holiday season phone releases.

This has been happening with my phone for most of the day today after having V10 for a couple weeks now with no problems at all, making me REALLY irritated.  I tried the NAM trick a few different times while on break at work and it still cycled.  If I would have known that this phone would have all of these issues, I never would have bought it last December.  I'm stuck with it until August, so hopefully a fix comes out for this glitch, or I try the replacement route (which I may have no choice).

I went to the VZW store to get a replacement phone Tuesday 10/19/10. The store employee looked at my phone and told me my V10 was TWO software updatws behind. I was suprised to hear from him that V12 was available at the stores. I guess to fix the V10 problems (don't know what V11 does). However, when he tried to apply it my phone started power cycling so he just gave me a new phone. He was also unable to put V12 on the new phone. He said there are some problems with upgrading to V12 so I guess we have to wait awhile for that. Nice to know they are working on a fix. Fortunately, the new Touch they gave me has V09. I can live with that for now. They also said if this one power cycles they will give me a different phone. At least this rep admits that there is a problem with the touch.

First off, you can add 2 of my 3 Env Touch phones to the list of phones that continuously reboot after the KV10 update.

I have found an alternate workaround than the NAM2 workaround:

This problem appears to involve receiving a "problem" text message. If you block all incoming texts for a short period and then unblock them, the problem will go away until the next time your phone attempts to receive another "problem" text message. I first experienced the issue on Saturday. My phone literally rebooted all day long while I kept experimenting with different things until I found this workaround. My phone went until Wednesday (today) without it happening again, but today it happened twice. All 3 times, the problem started after I sent a picture message to Facebook. It must involve attempting to receive the reply from Facebook that says the photo has been successfully posted to Facebook.

So anyway, here is my workaround: Just like the NAM2 workaround, you have to do this FAST, before the phone reboots again:

Long version: Menu, Settings and Tools, Phone Settings, Security, Lock Code, Restrictions, Lock Code, Messages, Incoming Messages, Block All

Shortcut OK, 8, 7, 7, Lock Code, 2, Lock Code, 3, 1, Block All

Wait a short period of time, and then go back into this menu and select Allow All. This resolves the issue.

Next question... Who should I be notifying that this is happening? I haven't notified LG or Verizon of this issue because I wasn't sure who to contact / how to do it. Didn't think just calling the Verizon support line would work for getting this issue pushed up the ladder to the developpers where it belongs, so if anyone could offer a suggestion, I would appreciate it.

Marty, you could very well be on to something, as far as that little workaround.  I tried it out, and after a few minutes, changed it back to allow all, and it seems alright at the moment.  Here's hoping, that way I can actually use my phone for more than a fancy wristwatch until I can get to a VZW store for V12.
