Hi.

I'm trying to access my filesystem on my enV Touch, but seem to get this message to appear. Is there a way to actually access the filesystem, or do I need to download some program to recognize the phone, etc.? (BitPim recognizes the phone fine)

Thanks a ton!

Hello! There are one or more ways to have your phone communicate with BitPim: First of all, I have used BitPim (or BP, for short) version 1.0.6-official. Even though BP doesn't support the LG EnV Touch phone, it worked through my bluetooth dongle, regardless of what comm port that BP lets me use (I used comm 71, I think?). Another option is to try using the supplied USB cable that came with the phone shipped in. I hope this helps. If not, let me or some moderator know.

Ok, when you are connecting to bitpim are you dropping the sync that pops up on your phone? That error message will pop up if you haven't.

When you talk about "pop up", do you mean it as when I connect the USB cable between the ET (LG EnV Touch, for short) and one of the USB ports, that thing pops up (with external memory supplied inside the phone) for music transfer, right? If that's what you mean, then yes. It does pop up every time it is connected between PC and USB, but not towards the A/C wall charger. You can still dissmiss the pop-up on the phone AFTER it has been successfully "connected". The phone will still work as normal.

As for BitPim, do you mean that as detecting the phone whether it has a comm port or what?

No, what I am saying is when this error message shows up, it almost never has to do with the port. It either is trying to connect with the wrong phone or you haven't dropped the sync.

Depending on the version of bitpim 1.0.6 connect with Voyager or Dare or if it's version 1.0.7 use the Touch settings.

If you have not dropped the sync from your handset when your handset connects to your computer, the file system will not be viewable. Your phone will not fully connect to bitpim if this is on. Once you drop it your phone will fully connect.

dont you have to dowload the drivers first? your phone should have came with a cd that downloads the usb drivers and allows your pc to read the phone. But if your like me, and was unfortunate enough not to get a cd, then just go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/index.html?otc-domains2008&cmpcat=wireless&domain=www.virizonwireless.com and sign in. There you should be able to find the download
