Greetings EnV Touch owners.

Version 4.9.7 of the LG phones USB driver installer has been released for Windows OS.

Windows 7 compatible.

The file is attached. Please PM me if you need the location at the LG website.

Since so many are having problems with driver installation and firmware updates, please read the following procedures at the LG website:

Ok. I've followed the directions, installed the software from the URL you specified... well, it found the LGE USB composite modem, but the "Hardware Found" wizard didn't show up... nor did the "finish" button show up either... I do have the LG EnV Touch (LG VX11000)... what am I doing wrong? I'm not sure if I follow any or all of the directions carefully because I'm trying to get my phone to communicate between my phone and BitPim over comm port "x" (7, as an example). I checked the Device Manager, and it said that the LGE USB modem driver is working correctly If that's so, then why didn't BitPim detect any comm port? I also looked over the help manual via BitPim, and it said that it works through any bluetooth dongale and the USB micro-B that came shipped with the phone. Help? Thank you!

Hi LGVX11000n64.

Disconnect the phone from the USB port.

Install the USB driver before connecting the phone.

Restart the computer.

Turn the phone off.

Leave the battery in.

Connect the phone via USB port.

Windows should now recognize the phone, install the drivers and etc.

If successful, the battery charging screen should activate on the phone.

Hi. I'm sorry, but what do you mean by "Install the USB driver before connecting the phone"? Not sure if I follow on that part. Do I have to have a particular software for the USB driver or...? What do I need to have in order before I go on? And thank you very much for your response! :-)

Sorry for the confudion.

Please try the following:

The EnV Touch should not be connected to the computer by USB until after the USB driver has been installed. Disconnect the phone from the USB port.

Download the attached file. It is an executable (.exe).

Double click on the .exe file. It will install the LGUSBModem driver version 4.9.7.

Restart the computer (reboot).

Turn the EnV Touch off.

Leave the battery in.

Now connect the phone to a USB port using the cable that is used for charging. It is also the USB data cable. Just unplug the cable from the charging block that inserts into the wall AC outlet (or mains as they say in the UK).

Next, Windows should go through the 'found new hardware' etc. routine.

Once the message that the hardware is installed and ready for use appears, check the EnV Touch screen. It should now say 'battery charging' with the green square progressions.

The phone is now ready for software access.

I wasted many hours on other sites trying to understand what the hacker community means. My GPS/radio/TV/multimedia device is mostly useless in my dashboard. My evTouch is just a big box that delivers phonecalls no better than the old clamshell.
Install the driver?Huh??? This question is not answered, yet.
Being a newbe is difficult when instruction is written for the clique of those who know everything already. As an example, it would be helpful to know which reference applies to the computer and which applies to the phone. Since most of my USB devices such as: printer, mouse, keyboard, etc. are working, one can think that the USB is operational with correct drivers. Is this driver phone specific?

It is in reference to the LGUSBModem driver version 4.9.7. The USB drivers (for the phone) will allow you to copy photos, music, video, wallpapers and ringtones from your phone to your computer or vice versa. To find the drivers do a search, google, bing or whatever search engine u use. Once you find the drivers follow the instructions on how to download them.

Once the drivers are download you should be able to take your USB cable (cable used to charge the phone) and connect to phone and computer. Once the phone is connect to the PC you can use your phone to transfer files, picture or whatever. But first you will need to run USB Mass Storage from your phone.

How to run USB Mass Storage:
Once you connect the phone goto settings and select tools. Step one: phone closed -From there scroll down to the very bottom and select USB Mass storage. Or step two: With the phone flipped up select Menu, setting and tools and then tools. From there you can scroll down or select #11 which is USB Storage. The phone should do the rest. I hope this helps  Cheesy

Thanks, cthunder,
I seem to have less and less grey matter as time goes on. You are very kind to provide this explanation.

your phone should of come with a book and a cd rom, which explains needing the drivers to connect your phone to your pc, it has nothing to do with hacking.
