The file is attached. Please PM me if you need the location at the LG website.

Does the USB driver allow you to transfer pics/vids/music from phone to pc? (and vice versa)

Technically, all the drivers do are enable your computer to recognize that your phone is plugged into the usb port. In order to transfer anything to the phone you have to have a microSD card installed so you can use the phone's USB Mass Storage feature or use bitpim if you don't have a card installed.

I installed the new USB drivers and I have a Micro SD card installed. THe computer recognizes the phone and says my new hardware is ready for use but I see no way to access the data from the phone. It doesn't show up on my drive list like I would normally see when a new memory device is attached. What's the trick to this? I have the phone set up to ask me when I connect and I select the DATA option. I tried the music one as well and although Media player came up I was unable to sync any music to the phone.

don't sync, go into usb mass storage mode under tools. it will act like an over sized card reader.

Thank you very much for that info. I was going crazy. My card reader refused to read my new Micro SD card even though I had in in the adaptor that came with it. Then I was trying to do the USB connection to the phone where you make the music or data selection and that wouldn't work. It's amazing to me that with all our technology it's still so confusing to hook a USB equipped device up and sync data. Why they put 2 different USB options under different menus I'll never know but it sure is confusing. Thanks again for clearing that up for me.

How old is your card reader? Some card readers were made before the HDSD standard was developed so they don't read the HD cards.

As long as your XP machine has Service Pack 2, it will recognize the phone just fine after you install the drivers.
I say Service Pack 2 because my XP machine had that and I couldn't confirm anything earlier. But really you should have that running anyway.

I just got the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) from being impatient and using the Program repair feature from Windoes 7. After my computer restarted I plugged the phone back in, went to USB mass storage, and there ya go. Just needed to be patient. Good luck, it is kinda confusing that it doesn't just load up from the drivers and let you fiddle with it's insides.

I tried to install the new Driver (4.9.4) and it worked, disconnected my phone and plugged it again. I noticed that i couldn't use Bitpim because my drivers weren't installed, so i tried to install it again with 4.9.4 version. It didn't work, so i tried it with the old version and it still didn't work. I always got this message:
Component: Disk(1) File Group: <Disk1>Disk1 Files(1) File: <FOLER_APPLICATIONS>\ Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Whats wrong?
