I have the master volume on high and it is not very loud also I can't hear the caller very well.  I am pretty sure my hearing is fine.

Is the phone on high. Cause i had the same problem thinking that the volume is low, but it turned out that the phone was just on medium low instead of high (still kicking myself about that). If that isn't the case, go to the lg service menu by opening up your phone (full keyboard) and type in ##lgservicemenu (the number will be ##5473784236368) then the service code will be all zeros (000000) then go to All Auto Test-LG, then once your there go to Sound Test. The phone will start making the ringtone "East Of Rain".
