List Your Phone's Glitches/Ideas for New Features Here

Complaining amongst ourselves is a great stress reliever.  Unfortunately, it doesn't accomplish much in the way of actually fixing the issue.  That's why I thought it would be a great idea to start a thread where everyone could list their specific phone's issues and/or ideas for features needed.  These could be addressed in any forthcoming firmware upgrades.



Glitches:


1.  On my third Touch.  It still freezes and the external screen goes black after taking it off charge.  I tried charging it with three different OEM LG cables and encountered the same problem.  I open the phone and the internal display works fine.  I close it and the external screen goes black and none of the external buttons work.  After leaving the phone alone for awhile it works normally without needing to be reset.  This only happens when the external charging screen is set to "Desk Clock" or "Calendar".  So far it hasn't happened when set to "No Image".  I'm pretty sure this is a software issue, since it's happened with three different phones.  It did it with firmware V03 and V04.  

2.  The browser has a serious design flaw.  If you set the display mode to "Fixed Width", the text size is severely limited.  Pressing zoom only increases text size slightly, then it continues to increase the size of pics only.  If you set the display to "Normal", the text doesn't wrap, forcing you to scroll from side to side to read each line.  The "Text Only" mode fixes this, but who wants to surf the Internet with no pics?  How dull is that?  The Voyager browser had a feature called "Optimized Web" that corrected this.  Why was this removed?

3.  When you set the keyboard display to "Always On", it still goes off after 30 seconds.

4.  If you turn the touch screen vibrate off, the phone will not vibrate when a call or text comes in, even when you have the feature turned on.

5.  Flash overexposes at distances of closer than 4 feet.

6.  Once the exterior LCD goes out, my phone periodically turns it back on for no apparent reason.  This seems to only happen at night.  No, it's not "Backup Assistant" at work.  That only occurs after midnight.

7.  When you turn the phone on with the flip open, the Verizon logo is sideways as if the phone was being held vertically.



Features Needed:


1.  The Voyager had a dedicated email button.  Why in God's name would they not include that feature on the Touch?  Why do we need a dedicated text msg button if we have a "QUERTY Shortcut" that starts a text msg as soon as you start typing?  I say keep the dedicated text msg button, but give us the option to set it for text messaging or email.  That would make everyone happy.  

2.  Bring back the slideshow wallpaper feature.  I really miss that.

3.  Add more and better "Themes".  That brown Theme is just flat out ugly.  The blue Theme is a better color, but not as functional.  Does it really make sense that the enV 3 has four Themes and the Touch (a more expensive model) only has two?  Come on.  Whose idea was that?

4.  There are still features that aren't available on the Shortcut Menu, such as:  Document Viewer, Stopwatch and USB Mass Storage.

5.  Using Voice Commands, you can "Play All Songs", "Play Last Song" or "Play a Certain Song", but you can't play a specific artist.  This needs to be changed.

6.  Bring back voice record during a phone call.  This has got to be the worse omission yet.  Need to jot down some important info during a phone?  Try maneuvering through the menus to find the note pad.  It'll be a miracle if you don't inadvertently hang up on the person.

7.  Change the clock display while charging back to black like the Voyager.  Who in their right mind decided to make this white?  Just what I need when I'm trying to sleep....a bright night light that never goes out.

8.  When taking a picture with the phone open, the exterior screen does not come on allowing for self portraits.  The Voyager did this.  Why remove a useful feature like this?

I thought about sending it to LG too.  However, I've talked to LG in the past about my Voyager.  They informed me that Verizon is exclusively responsible for firmware designs.  I think the way it works is like this.  Verizon specifies to LG exactly which features, changes or additions they want.  LG in turn implements them.  In other words, Verizon tells LG what they want in their firmware.  So any changes in the firmware have to go through Verizon. 

I'm going to forward this link to Verizon.  If anyone has glitches or ideas for new features, please include it in this thread.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but my text messages go from T9 to abc randomly and sometimes it says T9 but its in abc.

I think that might just be a limitation of the flash.  Cell phone flashes aren't designed to be as powerful as a regular camera's flash.  If they were, you'd need to charge your battery every time you took a few pictures.

Glitch fix wish:  Capitalize characters after a period, question mark, or exclamation mark by default when creating text messages.

Another Glitch.
When i get an IM, It gives me the Choices View  and Ignore
when i touch View nothing happens.
I have to open my phone and press okay.

Bump up the volume and make it louder. I know it's folded and the speakers are pointed on the keypad... But still my enV, enV2 and V were a lot louder.

GLITCH:
Since updating to the newest firmware at least once a day when I end a call the phone locks up and I have to pull the baterry to reset the phone.

IDEAS:

It would be nice to be able to change the color of the fonts.
