I used to sync my old Voyager (and my enV Touch as soon as I got it) using Winamp with no problems.  I found it easier to drag and drop, and I thought that doing so would also fix the error I noticed a while ago that if I look at the genres of my music, it has "Soundrack" or "Rock" and then after I scroll down past those, it has the same things but with a y with two dots over it before "Soundtrack".

So basically my music is split between "Soundtracks" and "ySoundtracks".  Each has some, so it's not restricted to artists or albums.

It's not a problem with the ID3 tags in my MP3 files, since they are all correct in Winamp.  I never had this problem in my Voyager, so I know it's a problem with the enV Touch's loading of my music.

Anyone else have this problem?  Is there any way I can fix this within my enV Touch?  I have 4.65 GB of music on my microSD card and when I put it into my computer, the tags are all fine with no goofy genres.  It only appears on my phone.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Did you verify through Winamp that both ID3v1 and ID3v2 are correct and that you have no hidden characters before or after "Soundtrack"?

So far so good.  I looked in the three tags (metadata, ID3 and ID2) and all of them are the same thing, even when I look up the file properties outside of Winamp.

Interesting.  I also noticed that one of my MP3 albums also having messed up ID3 info. on my phone, even though it appears just fine on Winamp.  I hadn't really looked into it but will when I get a chance.  Or just clear out the ID3 tags altogether and retype that stuff (maybe you can try that as well).

I'm glad to know that my phone isn't the only one doing this (in a good way, of course).

I will start doing my ID3 tags again, but I will admit, I'm not looking forward to going through on what I've got (4.65GB).  And that's just what I chose to sync THIS time...I've got almost 20 GB of music on my PC that I switch around with using AutoFill.

If there's a way around it, that will definitely be the way to go.

Thanks for looking into it!  I greatly appreciate it.

That's a lot of MP3s you have on your phone.  Cool

No problem and I'll report back if I discover any ID3 tag debugging.  Cool

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but I'm still looking around for a fix for this issue.  I noticed in only happens for particular artists, and it's annoying because if I ever want to play jazz in my car, for example, it only uses half of that category so it's quite lame.  That consigns me to only one artist, a custom playlist or just shuffling everything.

Any ideas?
