It didn't work for me, but maybe it's the kind of thing one needs to do multiple times before the phone remembers?  I don't know, I only tried it once haha.

found perhaps a solution on this problem. if u type a word in abc on the external, it will save it when you go back to t9. can any1 confirm this?

It works for about 20 minutes, then the phone forgets the new word

It actually did work for me a few days ago, but like someone else mentioned, it was only for a little while before it stopped.  Hmm, inneresting.

This is so frustrating!!  IDK is one of the biggest ones I use.. all I get is Gel.. which my friends have come to understand I mean IDK cuz I want to be able to T9 sometimes instead of the keyboard.

This is such a horrible glitch. When I'm at school or work and need to send a quick text message it's a pain to do so discreetly on the keyboard, yet my phone doens't recognize half the words I use regularly on the T9 external keypad. Can't stand itttt!
