So this is actually driving me kind of crazy!  Angry I will get a text message sometimes and the phone will not beep alerting me. I will only know I get a text when the 2 min reminder beep goes off. I don't know if I'm going crazy or it's my phone. I'm always either in bed or watching TV when it happens, so I'm in a quiet environment. This only happens about once/twice a day or sometimes every other day. Anyone else?

just got my touch a week ago and i'm  having this problem also..the only difference is if the clamshell is open and the home screen is on or off or if the clamshell is closed and the home screen is on then i can hear the alert.  however, if the clamshell is closed and the home screen is off, then i can't hear anything, the screen just lights up..

weird...

I had the same problem. Turn off "text auto view" and it should fix the problem...it did for me!  Grin
