Hello fellow enV-Touch owners,

I need to archive a good 50 or so text messages, preferably to my computer, for legal purposes. It is EXTREMELY important that these texts are not erased and I absolutely NEED to back them up. For now, I have locked the text messages, but I am not sure to what extent this will protect them. (Is there any chance that the phone will automatically delete locked messages that I have sent/received?)

Thank you SO MUCH to anyone that can help me. I've looked around quite a bit, but I can't find a way to back these up.

Hi,

Don't know if you've already figured this one out but I needed to back up my phone's call and text data for exactly the same reasons. I managed to do it with BitPim. http://www.bitpim.org/

I ended up buying a little cable (Micro USB to USB Data Cable from Verizon) to connect the phone to my Mac. I think it could also be done via Bluetooth but I couldn't quite make it work.

The important thing that I discovered is that once you've installed the BitPim software AND managed to get BipPim to discover and start communicating with your phone - you MUST actually ask BitPim to begin retrieving data to see anything. Just go to Data > Get Phone Data and a window with a list of sources to retrieve from your phone.

Happy hunting and good luck in court.

Peace,
Glenn

Try reading some of the posts in our Bitpim section.  There are even a few posts on how some got it to work on a Mac.
