First off, this is my first tutorial for env-touch.org  Wink Ok, after looking around and doing a bunch of research..here is how I was able to get BitPim to work with my Lg Env Touch. Lets get started! Just 5 easy steps.

Step 1. Download and Install Lg Env Touch drivers from V Cast Music Manager Download. It can be found from here:

Code:
http://www.vzam.net/vcastmusic/Step3.aspx?modelID=75&driverFile=LGUSBModemDriver_WHQL_Eng_Ver_4.8.1.exe

Step 2: Download and Install the test version of BitPim (1.0.7)

Code:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitpim/files/bitpim-tests/1.0.7.20090722/bitpim-1.0.7.20090722-setup.exe/download

Step 3: Turn on your phone, Tap the middle buttom, Navigate under Settings & Tools > USB Auto Detection > Choose Modem Mode. Plug it in and tap "Drop" on your phone.

Step 4: Open BitPim 1.0.7 Go to View > View File System. Now, go to Edit > Settings > Phone Type: LG-VX10000 (Voyager)

Now, it should say "LG-VX10000 (Voyager) on COM5 - Manually Set" on the bottom of the screen for BitPim 1.0.7.

*Note: This is what it said for my phone, yours may be on a different COM that is okay.

Step 5: Now, go ahead and click File System and then click the + sign. It may take awhile to retrieve the info on your phone.

You have successfully got into your File System for the Lg Env Touch!

If you want to put ringtones on your phone this way, Open Brew> Mod> 10889> Ringtones and just do a drag and drop to load custom Mp3 ringtones.

Happy Hacking! And have fun! Wink

What do you mean by changing the menu? You must be careful when using bitpim or you'll have to say "Bye-Bye" to your phone. Messing with any of the apps or even the menu like you said, it can have lots of problems..

Their is only one menu that can be changed and that is the file that can be replaced with the custom themes you can find posted around the forum.  The main menu cannot be altered.

Yeah..I didn't even try messing around with the files on it. I'm a bit scared to actually do any of that, but I do use bitpim to add music, download my pictures very quickly without taking out the sd card, and such.

acjohns - you should post what OS your running with your tutorial as it does make a difference. What works for 1 may not work for all. I have windows 7 64 bit and it didnt work bcause the drivers you link to dont work on windows 7 or any 64 bit system.

I was able to get bitpm working on my phone but the problem is pretty much anything I do in file system it tells me "access to the file directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider." Is there anyway to fix this?

EDIT:

I fix it, just seem like I needed to update my driver for the EnV touch

Hi,

I'm trying to back up text messages from my LG enV Touch to my Mac. Does anyone know how to do this? I've read the posts about Bitpim but it seems to be a PC only program.

Thanks,
Glenn
