!!! WARNING - POSSIBLY VERY DANGEROUS !!!
I saw a post from someone who said they were using their enV Touch natively with MacOSX via USB Mass Storage Mode (UMSM) and the data cable. The poster is using MacOSX Leopard 10.5.x:
http://www.env-touch.com/index.php?topic=270.msg1214#msg1214I found another thread where an owner of an LG CU500 reported being able to utilize UMSM while connected with a data cable. He was using Tiger 10.4.8 at the time of the post in 2006.
Here is a snippet, and the file is attached.
The ROM in the Qualcomm chipset has a wrong value in it, preventing OSX
from recognizing the chipset as a valid serial port. This has been reported
to Apple and a patch will hopefully happen before 10.5
First, back up this file:
/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/
AppleUSBCDCACMData.kext/Contents/Info.plist
Replace this file with the file from the attachment:
/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/
AppleUSBCDCACMData.kext/Contents/Info.plist
Update the Kernel Extension Cache:
(sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions)
Next, launch Disk Utility then repair the permissions. Reboot.
