does anyone know if there is an app from verizon that ties all of you social networking sites (i.e. myspace, facebook, twitter) into one inbox and outbox like the motorola blurs feature? If so is this app downloadable to enV touch

That's a negative, blame the BREW programming language.

I'd love to have an Android 2.0 or Blur like integration.

verizon has got to get it together when it comes to things like this to stay competitive with other phones.  I love the enV touch but lack of features has me wondering if i should have waited for the motorola droid.  I purchased my enV touch for the same price as a droid one month ago.. absolutely ridiculous..

You're not enjoying your "App Friendly" phone? LOL  Verizon should be sued for false advertising.

That's exactly what they want you to be thinking. The more people they can get to make the switch to a smartphone, the more money they make. Any WinMo, BB, or Android phone will have plenty of apps available, i.e. facebook, myspace, etc, for all your social networking needs. If they give you everything on the phones that require cheaper plans, there would be little cause for customers to make the upgrade.

You just have to ask yourself is it worth the extra $30 a month to have the features? Because the droid requires a data package and email plan.

I find it quite hilarious and ironic that once we do become enV Touch owners all of the sudden this phone has a lack of features.  It's a preposterous notion!!

While "feature" dumphones can do a lot more these days, in the end, they're still dump.  A smartphone is smart because historically it's been able to be a lot more fully-featured.

From a monetary stand-point, yeah, VZW wants you to get a smartphone instead.  But only to a certain degree.  If the general populace here in the states (which on average is techno-inept) all got smartphones ... well that'd be quite the nightmare for VZW's techs and reps.

Why do you think it would be a nightmare? VZW only has to worry about the basic phone functions/features that launch with it. They don't handle software/OS support or 3rd party app support for smartphones. They give you a website if you ask about the newest OS available and tell you to take care of it through your own computer. I'd say they have more hassle with the multimedia phones like the Touch really.

That wouldn't stop the flood of tech-support calls that would overtake VZW.  People (in general) don't give a hoot about who the 3rd party software provider or which number they need to call for which particular problem based on if it's hardware, softwarer, UI or 3rd party app related.

In the end, in their minds, VZW sold the phone, they pay their bill to VZW so VZW better solve their problems.

You miss the point. This is the way it is now. VZW does NOT offer you support for those issues on smartphones. People wanting it to be another way hasn't changed that.

No.  I'm simply stating that it would only magnify an existing problem.  That's all.

...moving on.
